I might be wrong about Murderbot too! This is all only osmosed. I don't HATE this little excerpt at least in theory, but something gives me the feeling that the camaraderie between humans and Murderbot hasn't quite been earned lol.
The 'must protect the murderbot' vibes are TOO strong.
This makes sense. I don't mind soft stuff but I DO want it to be in contrast to some real gauntlets run prior!
Glad to hear it's a cyborg though. Does the book address where the human actually came from?
Lastly in defense of Chambers I have not read the book myself to assess, but I do trust the friend's takes.
