I think this is a character flaw that can also be a strength and could potentially be very interesting, but it feels like the book plays the trope very straight and I find that very grating lmao.

I have not read Homestuck! I've been honestly pretty open at accepting Gideon/Harrow & taking the ship at face value, but I agree. Especially when it's been three whole books and they only had meaningful interactions that they're both properly conscious for in one of them.
